For a major renovation of one of the server rooms at GlaxoSmithKline in Rixensart, Belgium, GSK partnered with Alteco Europe to replace the existing computer access floor.
The computer access floor in the server room was 15 years old and no longer met the required standards due to the increasing weight of the server racks. Chris Buyzen, Computer Rooms Floor Manager, and his team therefore decided to renovate the server room in phases, as it houses a large amount of critical equipment on which thousands of GSK employees depend.
The Alteco IV 1260 raised access floor system is one of the most stable and safest flooring systems currently available on the international market. It consists of a robust steel supporting structure with removable panels, available in various finishes.
